Our second outreach week occurred at the Wind River Elementary School in Pavillion, Wyoming during the week of September 24, 2007. This school is on the Wind River Indian Reservation which is located just west of Riverton, Wyoming.
The school is a more traditional school in class set up and style. This week the graduate students taught two sessions per day. Their classes were much larger with student numbers averaging 24 students per class.
Allison and Melinda teamed up to teach the first and second graders. They taught on Bears during this week. Ann taught Beavers to third and fourth graders. Heather and Meta taught Birds of Prey to the fifth graders.
The weather was beautiful so the students were allowed to go outside for many of their research projects and activities. A new school is being built so next year, we will be able to teach in their new building.
