Thirteen Fourth Graders from Pinedale Elementary School were here for two days of residential experience. Mary Anne Almquist, their teacher, has been bringing students here for five years. Asked what keeps her coming back each year, Almquist said right out that the curriculum here is excellent for her gifted class. She teaches them higher level thinking skills in Pinedale and the Teton Science Schools program gives her students the opportunity to use those skills in an environmental setting. “The outstanding staff is really into kids and curriculum and activities. The staff care so much. For their art activities, they offered kids different media to work with, the whole gamut from watercolors to modeling clay.”
The kids were fascinated by the Marvelous Mardi Murie night at the Murie Museum when instructor, Allison Greene presented as Mardy Murie herself. Below, Allison observes a sharp tailed grouse specimen with a student. ![]()
