The goal of the Community Leadership Program at Journeys School is to develop leadership, communication and collaboration skills in students. The program consists of a leadership curriculum, family groups and experiential trips. Within each level of the school, leadership classes are integrated into the curriculum with focal points at second, fifth, eighth and twelfth- grade Capstone Years. Each student belongs to a family group which meets periodically throughout the year. Each family group is made up of 15-20 students in grades K-12 who, along with two faculty members, carry out service projects and collaborative challenges. The final component are our Journeys or extended trips program. Each Journey is an experience in a new community and relies on the leadership of each student to ensure success.
