The Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools sits on a 900-acre site comprised of creeks, ponds, aspen, conifer and sage habitats. Only two miles outside Jackson, TSS maintains and enhances conservation easements on all by two% of this site. The campus services the educational needs of students, teachers-in-learning and community members of all ages.
All buildings were designed using high-performance materials with low-level organic compounds and minimal resources. Natural lighting and innovation in space design have resulted in an environment that benefits all who live, work and visit here. Ongoing ecological work at the campus specializes in field science experiences within the suburban-rural interface and human-use impacts on our natural communities.
The Jackson Campus can accommodate events for as many as 300 people. Its adaptable resources host educational and wildlife conferences, professional development workshops, luncheons, board meetings, community events and weddings.
High Performance Design
All buildings at the Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools were designed to meet specific responsible goals and objectives. Buildings are concentrated on less than two percent of the total campus acreage. Narrow building footprints are oriented to maximize daylight, passive solar gain and natural ventilation. Radiant concrete floors provide high heating efficiency and a demonstration photovoltaic system is tied into the power grid.
