  • Allie Dillon

    B.S., Biology, Rhodes College

    Allie first came to the Teton Science Schools for a two-week long Rocky Mountain Ecology field studies course at the Kelly Campus in June 2010. Since then, she has graduated from Rhodes College with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science. She hopes to further her education in graduate school in the upcoming years and is very excited to continue her journey in this endeavor by returning to Jackson Hole and TSS. Allie enjoys being outdoors and exploring new opportunities and places.

  •  Amy Lorenz

     B.A. in Biology, B.S. in Psychology,  University of Delaware

     EXPERIENCE: Amy has worked as a research assistant in human perception and emotion labs. She splits her time between teaching and directing at an outdoor science school in the mountains of Lake Arrowhead, CA during school year; and assisting in whale research and marine education in the Bay of Fundy and Gulf of Maine during the summer. Amy is currently assisting in a study on marine traffic and critical habitats of dolphins in the Istanbul Strait.

  • Devin Trainor

    B.S. in Environmental Science, Minor in Economics, Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA

    EXPERIENCE: Devin recently spent a year at sea, working on commercial fishing boats in Maine and Alaska, and worked for the Ocean Classroom Foundation’s Semester at Sea program. He has worked and taught courses as a bicycle mechanic, completed internships with the Wild Rockies Field Institute of Montana, and Renewable Energy Finance in Boulder Colorado.  On land, he is happiest with bountiful mountain biking trails close by.

  • John Beye

    B.S. in Geography, University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI


    EXPERIENCE:  John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with an emphasis on People and the Environment.  While at Madison he was highly involved in the university's ski and snowboard club and was in charge of leading student ski trips across the United States.  John has a passion for music, traveling, and the outdoors.  After graduation he began planning a long-term trip to South Africa to work in an outdoor adventure program and teach surfing to local township children.  When this program is finished John will be extending his travels through Africa before returning to the United States.

  • Natalie Mesce

    B.A. in Biology, Western State College, Gunnison, CO.

    EXPERIENCE: Natalie has been working as a biological field technician. She has had the opportunity to work with a number of different species including the uncompahgre fritillary butterfly, kit foxes, red foxes, coyotes, snowshoe hares, and pine martens. Working on these different projectshas given her the opportunity to explore new locations and make new friends.  While the out-of-doors is often Natalie's office, it is her playground, as well.  Her interests include hiking, backpacking, climbing, boating, and skiing.  

  • Tayla Fulcher

    B.A in Biology with minors in Chemistry, Spanish, and Education, University of North Texas

    EXPERIENCE: For the past three years Tayla has taught high school Chemistry and Physical Science courses. She also worked closely with the band program to teach Colorguard after school. She loves yoga, running, and anything else she can do outdoors.

  • Tara Barnes

    B.A in History, Park University, Parkville, MO.
    B.S in Environmental Geology, Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, MO.

    EXPERIENCE: Tara has completed two environmental education internships with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Student Conservation Association. She has traveled around the United States and has experienced every type of environment.  For the past ten years Tara has worked with children and adults as a camp councilor, swim teacher, refuge guide, lab assistant, and an environmental educator. 

  • Joshua Christmas

    B.S. in Secondary Education and History, Minor in Broad Field Social Sciences,  Marquette University. 

    EXPERIENCE: Josh comes to TSS with an Education and Student Affairs background.   In college he worked as a Resident Assistant, Facilities Manager, and manager of a behind-the-scenes team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of university-owned apartments and residence halls.  Josh was also a peer educator with Marquette's Violence Opposition in Community Education ( V.O.I.C.E)--a student-run, sexual violence awareness and prevention organization.  He enjoys reading, writing, hiking, fishing, and horseback riding in his spare time.

  • Charlie Vogelheim

    B.S. in Environmental Sciences and German, University of Notre Dame

    EXPERIENCE: In the past half decade, Charlie has found himself in odd situations such as wandering through the east Australian bush searching for bachelor pads of the male satin bowerbird, trying to teach 5-year-olds how to moonwalk for a water-cycle-themed rewritten Michael Jackson song performance and being mistaken for a bear by tourists while researching grasshoppers at the National Bison Range. He is currently finishing up a year of service in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest in the Portland, OR area working for an environmental nonprofit leading service learning trips with students in stream and wetland restoration.

  • Jeda Higgs

    B.S. Biological Sciences, Minor in Psychology, California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA

    EXPERIENCE: Jeda has spent the last 4 years mentoring teens as an Activities Director, Center Manager and Operations Director for an international student language and cultural immersion program in San Francisco, New York City and Vancouver, Canada.  She is an avid volunteer in her community and currently serves the Utah Arts Alliance and Salt Lake City Arts Council as a Program Coordinator.  Jeda enjoys backpacking and hiking, and has completed treks to Machu Picchu in Peru, Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and across the Sierra Nevada.
