    Travis has been teaching children and working with families in Teton Valley and Jackson for over ten years. In graduate school, she focused her work in restorative practices, play therapy and gender differences in young children. Travis works closely with teachers and administrators to develop and implement a comprehensive and exceptional learning needs program at Journeys School. Travis focuses her efforts on celebrating student strengths, while creating a supportive learning environment that celebrates all learning styles. Over the last two years, Travis has worked with students, faculty and administration to implement restorative practices throughout Journeys School as a best practices model of behavioral support and intervention for students Pre-K—12th grade.

  • Khale Reno

    Khale earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine and Health Education from Linfield College and is at the end of her Master of Education degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Montana State University combining Health, Physical Education, and Environmental Studies (as well as K-12 Certification in Physical Education). Khale taught physical education and coached at The Evergreen School in Washington for five years, completed the graduate program at Teton Science Schools, and has played semi-professional basketball in Denmark. Khale comes with a wealth of experience in the outdoor education and traditional physical education fields.

    Born and raised on a lake in Minnesota, college in Vermont and several road and backpacking trips out west landed Ellie in Jackson ten years ago. After teaching art to grades K-12 in the Jackson community for six years and as the adjunct visual arts teacher at Journeys in 2010-11, Ellie has returned to Journeys. During her free time she enjoys skiing, cooking and spending time in the mountains with her husband Arden and dog Latu. Her creative passions are throwing on the pottery wheel, mixed media painting and knitting. Ellie believes that through art her students find their voice, become creative thinkers, problem solvers and make interdisciplinary connections.

    Jeff is excited to be returning to Journeys School after a year-long hiatus for furthered education. He has been performing and teaching in and around the valley for 4 years. He performs with Off Square Theatre Company, local improv group The Laff Staff and The Jazz Foundation of Jackson Hole where he spent two years as vice president. He also performs with salsa band Calle Mambo, rock band 86, and has performed in many other capacities throughout the valley. He is looking forward to passing on his performing arts knowledge to the eager students of Journeys School.

    Laura moved here from Vermont where she taught first grade for ten years in public school and literacy at a language and learning center to all ages prior to that. She is excited to be working at Journeys School and is committed to helping students develop their literacy skills. Laura enjoys hiking, skiing, art, the great outdoors, and being with family and friends.

  • Anitra Jensen

    Anitra has fifteen years experience in education. Her teaching experience spans Montessori Preschool,  elementary - grades kindergarten through sixth and adult learners. The last eight years Anitra spent teaching at the k-5 laboratory school on the campus of Utah State University. While there, she was an adjunct instructor teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Gifted Education. Antira feels that one of the most effective ways of meeting children's academic needs is through teacher training.  Helping teachers understand gifted students' social-emotional needs and teaching tinstructional strategies to meet gifted students' academics needs is something Anitra loves to do. Anitra enjoys spending time with her husband and two grown children hiking, biking, canoeing and traveling.
