Programs of the Teacher Learning Center are designed to meet the needs of: school administrators and leaders; educational researchers; and in-service professionals and pre-service educators representing all educational disciplines from public, charter and independent schools. If you have an interest in educational excellence, the Teacher Learning Center has an interest in you.
- Can I bring my family to Teton Science Schools while I participate in a Teacher Learning Center program?
Teton Science Schools’ facilities are family-friendly; in fact our residential lodges were designed to accommodate a visiting teacher and his or her family to stay on campus. In addition, Teton Science Schools offers programming, especially in the summer, in which family members can enroll and participate.
- Does the Teacher Learning Center offer professional development credits to program participants?
Many Teacher Learning Center programs award credit to participants. These credits are typically issued through Utah State University or University of Wyoming. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available to Wyoming teachers under the auspices of the Wyoming Professional Teachers Standards Board. Please feel free to contact Teacher Learning Center staff to inquire if your program awards credit and how you can apply for credit.
- Will we visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks?
As much as possible, Teacher Learning Center program agendas are designed to ensure that participants have an opportunity, as part of the program itself or during scheduled time-off, to see Grand Teton National Park. The south entrance of Yellowstone National Park is about an hour and a half from Teton Science Schools’ Jackson Campus, which limits actual programming time in this park. Teacher Learning Center staff is happy to advise participants on visiting Yellowstone before or after a program.
- How is Journeys School related to the Teacher Learning Center?
Journeys School, a pre-K through 12th grade independent school, is one of six different programs of Teton Science Schools that help to achieve our mission of connecting people, place, nature and education.
