Student Teaching Internships

Internships are offered for students or professionals interested in place-based learning as well as individuals working toward completing teacher certification. Participants experience and engage in direct teaching while exploring their own place-based philosophy. Student teachers, through partner universities across the United States, are fully engaged in planning and implementing curriculum that is multi-age, experiential and place-based. Collaboration with colleges and universities allows careful placement and supervision of interns and student teachers.

Student Teaching

The Teacher Learning Center staff, along with appropriate Journeys School faculty, work with student teachers and their colleges and universities to arrange placement and supervision of student teachers. Student teachers are fully engaged in planning and implementation of an innovative curriculum that is multi-age, experiential and integrated. Student teachers attend seminars and have the opportunity to participate in professional-development workshops hosted by the Teacher Learning Center.
