Welcome from Teton Science Schools

Welcome from the Executive Director of ANCA

On behalf of ANCA's Board of Directors and Staff, I invite you to join us at the Teton Summit at the Teton Science Schools in Jackson, WY. This will be the 14th annual gathering of nature and environmental learning center administrators from around the country-plus a few other countries! According to many of our members, the annual ANCA Summit is the best professional development opportunity for center administrators whether you are a brand new director or a seasoned professional.

I am thrilled that this year's Summit will be at the Teton Science Schools (TSS). As an alumnus of the TSS Graduate Program, I know from personal experience what an amazing place TSS is and you just can't beat the setting. The TSS Jackson Campus is within close driving distance to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and less than two miles from downtown Jackson. Plus the wildlife viewing opportunities are incredible.

Summit organizers have put together plans for another great gathering so be sure to register early. For more information about ANCA, please visit our website at www.natctr.org . See you at the Teton Summit in August!

Welcome from Teton Science Schools

The Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA) has many membership benefits—from Directions newsletter, to an amazing network of professionals, to the learning available through surveys, workshops and consulting services. Through these efforts this national network of nature center leaders enhances the profession through innovative and progressive energies as ANCA’s mission intends. Epitomizing these shared energies are the regional and national ANCA Summits.

This year Teton Science Schools are proud to host the Teton Summit, ANCA’s 14th annual national gathering, in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Through workshops, facilitated and open space sessions, a great professional trend keynote speaker and networking opportunities, this Summit should be a must-attend on every nature center administrator’s calendar. Teton Science Schools
offer a wide range of experiences—all guided by our mission of connecting People, Nature Place and Education. The six program areas of Teton Science Schools include:

Educational Programs
Graduate Program
Journeys School
Teacher Learning Center
Conservation Research Center
Wildlife Expeditions

The Summit will be located on the Jackson Campus. Perfectly poised to benefit from Jackson Hole’s unique setting and community, the Jackson Campus is 880 acres comprised of creeks, ponds, aspen, conifer, grassland and sage habitats—all-in-all an outstanding outdoor classroom. Furthermore, all nine of the new buildings were constructed with high-performance design, incorporating green building techniques, materials and uses.

There is a lot to be learned at ANCA’s Teton Summit. Don’t miss the opportunity to gain insights and information from the field, network with an experienced community, plus take the time to connect with the Teton Range and Jackson Hole’s magnificent mega fauna. Sign up now; and see you then.
