Bill grew up in Northern Iowa and attended Arizona State University. After graduating in 2004, he spent the next 15 years working in the Outdoor Education field for Outward Bound, independent schools, and nonprofits. During that time, he worked as a naturalist, instructor, staff trainer, and program manager, and has guided backpacking, canoeing, sailing, rock climbing, and mountaineering trips. Before joining TSS in 2024, Bill worked as a Park Ranger for Joshua Tree National Park for five years. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, climbing, and going on adventures with his wife, Genna, and their standard poodle, Teddy.
