Eliza graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Science and Life Sciences Communication, as well as a certificate in Sustainability. She then took off for California, where she spent a season working for the National Park Service in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks as an aquatic bioscience technician. While she loved being out in the field, chatting with hikers on the trail about the project was one of her favorite parts of the job. Reaffirming this passion for education & outreach inspired her to join the Montana Conservation Corps’ Big Sky Watershed Corps program, through which she was placed with the National Wildlife Federation. In this role, she got to spend 2024 encouraging people all over Missoula to create wildlife habitat in their gardens and outdoor spaces! She’s thrilled to be continuing her service as an AmeriCorps member with Teton Science Schools, and she looks forward to growing as an educator by gaining experience in place-based learning and hands-on STEM education. In her spare time, you can find Eliza roaming around outside, writing subpar poetry, or attempting to play her new banjo named Marsha.
