Margot Watters

Margot was born and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.  She received her BA from Denison University in 1988 where she played college field hockey and lacrosse. Margot obtained a Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991. Her initial professional focus was in-home crisis therapy for children. Later she went to work at a private school in St. Louis developing their health program as well as teaching middle school history and coaching their field hockey team.

Margot is married to Tim Watters and they have five children ranging from 14 to 25 years old.   They moved to Victor in 2004. At that time, they became actively involved in the evolution and growth of the Teton Valley Community School (TVCS). Four of their children attended TVCS and all 5 attended Journeys starting in middle school. Four of their children graduated from Journeys and their youngest, Matthew, is currently in 9th grade.

The Watters operate a small family farm where they breed and raise lambs, meat chickens and laying hens. For the past three years, Margot has been the Race Director for the Tin Cup Challenge put on by the Community Foundation of Teton Valley.  Her other hobbies include competitive ultra running, horseback riding and focusing on our family.
