Becca grew up right outside of Washington D.C., in Maryland, and developed her excitement for science and the environment at Haverford College where she majored in Biology and Environmental Studies. After college, she continued her education, completing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, with a focus on wildlife and biodiversity, at the University of Freiburg, spending two years in a small city nestled within Germany’s Black Forest and biking everywhere. After her Master’s, she took some time to travel in Latin America, improving her Spanish, volunteering, and exploring beautiful landscapes. Inspired by the field excursions during her studies, as well as experiences working as a teaching assistant, science tutor, student mentor, and camp counselor, she looks forward to developing her place-based education skillset in Jackson with TSS! In her free time, you can find her reading in a hammock, on an outing in the mountains, playing sports, or having a picnic with friends.
