Seniors' Grassroot Projects
As classes end for seniors and their IB exams begin, seniors are also concluding other Journeys School requirements such as their participation in CAS (Creativity, Action, Service), their grassroots project, and reflections on academics in their electronic portfolio.  Seniors take on many endeavors over the year that get celebrated through events such as Extended Essay presentations, college acceptances, and of course graduation.  Another endeavor that should also be recognized is their grassroots project.  An integral part of the CAS program, students are required to plan and initiate a project that fills a need not met in our community.  This project must cover two of the 3 strands of CAS as well as occur over an extended period of time in order to demonstrate growth, perseverance, reflection, and commitment.  Goals are created prior to beginning the project, and specific learner outcomes are required upon culmination. The faculty is proud of the seniors for their ideas and ventures over the last two years.  If you have any questions about the CAS program or the projects accomplished, please contact Shoshana.Kobrin@journeysschool.org.
