Our winter break will be here before we know it! If your family will be missing any school, please let advisors know ASAP, so we can plan accordingly. We will be doing special service learning and journeys on December 18th and 19th, so it is important to know numbers as we work on buses and schedules. Thank you and we wish everyone Happy Holidays.
Mardy and Olaus Murie were well-known for bringing people together to have stimulating conversations about important issues. Mardy also was well-known for hosting community cookie exchanges as another way to connect and share as community members. Parents are invited to join the elementary community in a cookie exchange on Monday, December 18th at 2:15 pm. If you and your child have time to make cookies over the weekend to contribute, that is fantastic, but come even without cookies to listen to poetry and exchange cookies made at school. Print out and bring your recipe to share, if you like.
On December 18th and 19th the elementary students will be working with People Spread Love http://peoplespreadlove.com/ to make cards for those in need of kindness. We have been growing a tree of kind deeds at school and now it is time for us to pay it forward to others. We will also be delivering cards and caroling around the community on Tuesday.
Thank you to our rag and snack volunteer this past week, Lisen Kern. Next up is Rudelle and Heather for this week and Tamsen and Nadia for the 15th. Thanks to all families who have donated to the annual fund and have shown support for this school!
