In this workshop we will examine how learning experiences in nature contribute to the cognitive, creative, social-emotional and physical develop of young learners (age 3-5). We will explore the pedagogical approaches and philosophies of education that support learning in and from the environment including place-based education and project-based learning. Participants will learn how to enhance early childhood curriculum through hands-on activities and resources in their home communities that connect children to the natural world and bring nature into the classroom.
