Once a week Journeys School enjoys lunch together in the dining lodge. This multi-age gathering allows children and faculty from all levels to have either a lunch brought from home or a lunch prepared by our chef featuring a varied, healthy menu made with organic foods whenever possible. With parent volunteers helping to serve and clean up, children greeting friends from other levels, faculty chatting with students from previous years…community lunch is a valuable part of the Journeys School week!
All lunches include garden fresh salad, orange slices, cookie and milk.
Examples of Community Lunch menus include:
- Spaghetti with Turkey Meat Balls, Garlic-Cheese Toast
- Sweet & Sour Chicken, Vegetarian Fried Rice, Won-Ton Soup
- Cheese Quesadilla, Black Bean Soup
- Organic Crunchy Chicken Strips, Half-Baked Potato
