International Program

Journeys School’s small international program for high school students offers a rich experience, both in terms of academic challenge and innovative education. The global focus of our curriculum allows for international students and local students to interact and discuss issues relevant to the 21st century. All international students are enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Weekend and after-school experiences include outdoor trips, cultural experiences, robotics team and athletics, among many other opportunities. Housing for international students is arranged through our homestay program.

The school sponsors F1 visas and offers English Language Learning (ELL) support based on English language proficiency. International students are enrolled in the same classes as American students with support  provided to students that need more English language development. The school also receives J-1 students from approved government sponsored programs.

Jackson Hole is an extraordinary mountain valley that offers countless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Combined with a significant arts/culture community in the valley, the area offers a cosmopolitan feel in a resort town. The experience at Journeys School is the perfect combination of challenging academics and small town America.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

International applicants to Journeys High School may need to further develop their English proficiency before being prepared to thrive in our grades 6-12 International Baccalaureate Program. If your primary language of academic instruction has not been in English for the past four or more years, you will need to complete the English proficiency testing. Journeys School accepts the TOEFL and ITEP test as a measure of English proficiency. Information about each test can be found at the links below.

Journeys School Institution Code is 5354. There are over 9000 institutions (schools, governments, and private business) that use TOEFL scores. Journeys School requires a minimum score of 75.

iTEP SLATE (Secondary Level Assessment Test of English) is used to assess the English Language Proficiency of High School age students or younger. Journeys School is a registered partner with iTEP-SLATE, so no code is needed to have your scores made available to the school. Journeys School requires a minimum score of 5.
