Big 5 and Water Bottles Home and Back Again
Yes, it is finally snowing. Thank you for sending your child with hat, mittens, boots, coat, and snow pants so everybody can be comfortable during our outdoor time- whether it is explorations, recess, or PE. We will remind students to take home water bottles and big 5 over break but please remember to send them back again on January 3rd. If a student tells us they have extra snow pants at home, we will go with that, so you might want to clarify what you need at home over the break.

Two Special Days
Monday, Dec. 18th: We will be doing special activities all day that include learning about holidays around the world, baking cookies, and preparing for our poetry share. Parents are invited to bring cookies for our cookie exchange and/or come to listen to student poetry from 2:15 through the end of the day.
Tuesday, Dec. 19th (final day before break): We will be working on some service learning with People Spread Love and caroling at The Senior Center, The Living Center, Jackson Whole Grocer, and Legacy Lodge. We will finish at Town Square with the whole elementary school at 11: 05. That afternoon we will be having an outdoor party to celebrate kind acts at R Park. Everyone will need the Big 5 that day, however, we will make sure to remind kids to take home all snow pants and boots for the break. Thanks to our parent reps for helping out with this event.
We will be eating regular lunch at school both days so just send your lunchboxes as usual.

Save the Date: Friday, February 9, 6:00-8:00 pm
Save the date for the 5th & 6th Grade Social at Journeys School. This fun event with a DJ, activities, and food is open to all 5th and 6th graders in the area. Spread the word - invite your friends!

Appreciations
Thank you for the help with snacks and rags to Rudelle and Heather last week and Tamsen and Nadia this week. We don't have anyone signed up for January 5th, the week we return... yet. Please sign up here if you're able to help out that week.  If you haven't yet taken a turn with doing simple snacks on Friday or washing the rags, we'd really appreciate everyone pitching in at least one time this year. Thanks to you all for participating in the annual fund (100% - Wow!) and it was fun to see many of you dressed up at the gala. We appreciate the partnerships with People Spread Love, The Living Center, Legacy Lodge, The Senior Center, and Jackson Whole Grocer.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and winter break. We so enjoy the amazing learning and growing we see on a daily basis. Now, that's a gift! Travel safely and be well. Happy New Year!
