Old Bill's Gatorade Challenge!
Saturday, September 9, meet at 9:50 am

For the past three years Journeys School has held the Old Bill's Gatorade Challenge! Here's how it works:
Journeys School families meet up at Old Bill's to walk with our banner. We will meet on the corner by the Southeast Elk arch 10 minutes before the race begins (race begins at 10 am, so see you by 9:50 am).
Wear your Journeys School swag: hats, t-shirts, anything that says Journeys School. New students will recieve a hat or t-shirt the week before the race.
If Warren counts 100 people wearing Journeys School swag, we will dump a bucket of gatorade on three teachers!
We are excited to see you all at Old Bill's on Saturday!

Old Bill's Donations
Please join our efforts by contributing to Teton Science Schools through Old Bill’s Fun Run. If you would like to direct your gift to Journeys School, please select Teton Science Schools as the organization and make a note of your gift direction in the comments box of the online or hardcopy donation form. (The comments box does not appear in the online form until after you enter your contact information and then click "submit".) A percentage match allows your gift to have an even greater impact.  Please click here for more information about Old Bill's Fun Run and to donate online. Thank you!

Journeys School K-12 classes utilize an online system to keep students and families updated on academic class information. Haiku (www.haikulearning.com) provides a number of online support systems for students and parents. To access Haiku, go to https://tetonscience.learning.powerschool.com/do/account/login and login under the Haiku login portal (do not use Google Apps).  Families new to Journeys School's K-12 should have received an email with login information. If you need your login information re-sent (new or returning families) please contact Sam.
You will receive email notifications from each class. You can choose how often you receive notifications by clicking the icon in the very upper right corner of the screen on your Haiku home page and choosing “Notifications”.

Journeys School, in coordination with Friends of Pathways, will participate in iWalk/iBike/iBus on Wednesday, September 20. Students/families interested in biking to school from Wilson/The West Bank should meet at 7:40 am at the Stilson parking area's warming shed. Students/families interested in biking to school from south of town should meet at 7:40 am at the Presbyterian Church parking lot (1251 South Park Loop Road).
Faculty and staff will ride with students on pathways, under the highway, across the pedestrian/bicycle bridge, and up Coyote Canyon! If your child is just learning to ride a bike we ask that a parent join the ride. Remember to wear your helmet and dress warmly for a cool morning. Thank you to the many students who already use the bus!

Parent Education Series - Session I
Wednesday September 20:  Jackson Campus (North Ed Center)
Thursday September 21:  Victor (TVCS)

We have partnered with Rachel Wigglesworth from Growing Great Families and Allison Bergh from Leadership At Play to create this three session series of workshops.  The first two workshops will focus on what our children need from us, using brain science as our foundation and your experiences and circumstances as the focus of the work Rachel will lead us through.  The third will move toward strengthening the relationships among parents, teachers and students to enhance the success of our children.  At its most basic level, these workshops are designed to help Journeys School hear from our parents, so that we can better support you and so that we can all partner together for all of our children.

RSVP is not required. All sessions will run 5:30-7:30pm.  We are working to arrange childcare and would welcome support in this area.  If you have older students looking for service hours and interested in supervising children on any of these evenings, please contact Hannah.  We have a couple of middle school students helping out; it would be great to also get at least one high school student to help.

Session I:  We will have two options, one in Jackson and one in Victor.  Our hope is that by having a session in Victor, more of our Teton Valley parents will be able to join.  While we cannot offer two options for sessions II and III, we are hoping that with advance notice (and a great first session), more of our parents will be able to join us on the Jackson Campus!
Wednesday September 20:  Jackson Campus (North Ed Center)
Thursday September 21:  Victor (TVCS)
Session II:  Wednesday October 11:  Jackson Campus (Upper School Building)
Session III:  Monday November 13:  Jackson Campus (location TBD)
