Emergency Notification System Update
In our efforts to improve our emergency communications we will be making some changes to the text messaging functionality of our Emergency Notification System. On Monday, January 26 you should receive a text message from the Journeys School Emergency Notification System. The text message will state something similar to: “TetonScienceSchools: You are now subscribed to receive text alerts. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Msg&data rates may apply.”
There is no action required on your part. You can simply delete this message and you do not need to contact the school to verify receipt of the message. Please do not reply “STOP” as this will remove your phone number from our system. We will only use this function in the event of a school cancellation or other important and timely message that we need to distribute to all parents and staff.
We will test this system periodically to make sure that messages are being delivered to all parents and staff on the proper devices. If you have any questions please contact Sam at email@example.com. Thank you for your patience as we make this upgrade to our system.
Bring a Friend Day
Monday, January 26
Journeys School K-12th grade students are invited to bring a friend to school on Monday, January 26. Pizza lunch will be provided to all students in K-12. Students should already have RSVP'd for their visiting friends. Please remember all visitors must bring a Visitor Form which requires the visiting student's parent signature.
Journeys School Re-Accreditation and Self-Study
On March 1st - 4th Journeys School will be hosting a visiting team to get re-accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS). To prepare for this visit, faculty and staff have been working for the past two years to document how Journeys School meets the association's standards. Ten educators from across the region will be on campus in March comparing what they have read in the self-study document to what they experience when they are at school. We would like to share this completed self-study with parents so that parents can see what the faculty and staff believe are the strengths of the program and where we hope to continue to improve. If you would like to view the self-study, you are welcome to read the hard copy that is in the Journeys School office. If you have any questions about this process or the self-study itself, please contact Charlotte Quesada at (307) 734-9861 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank You to Parent Council
Many thanks to Parent Council for showing their appreciation of Journeys School faculty and staff. On Tuesday, Lisa Allen and Jessie Lang provided an amazing lunch for all faculty. Thank you so much!
