Pennies for Patients Fundraiser
Now - Friday, March 20
Journeys School's Pennies for Patients fundraiser through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society began on Monday March 2nd and will go through Friday March 20th. There are collection boxes in the high school for each grade and we'll have events each week to promote the cause and grade level websites where families and friends can donate money online. This is an awesome cause! The money we raise goes directly to treatment for families affected by blood cancers along with research to find new ways to treat cancer. The last time Journeys School participated (in 2011), we raised $3,300 - more than 3 times the average amount schools collect. Let’s see if we can raise over $5,000 this year!
At the Wyoming State High School Nordic Skiing Championships held in Pindale two weeks ago, Journeys School senior Chris Watters claimed two individual state titles. Chris won both the freestyle 10-kilometer and the 5-kilometer classic race. What an accomplishment!
Parent volunteers are encouraged to assist with community lunch. To volunteer, please arrive in the dining lodge at 11:40 am. All lunches include garden fresh salad, orange slices, cookies and milk.
