Annual Middle/High School Winter Chess Tournament
The Journeys School High School senior class will be hosting a chess tournament for the middle school and high school to be held the week of December 5. While the event will be, for the most part, designed for students in grades 6-12, students of all ages and chess experience are welcome to join. They will refine and test their chess skills against their peers for a grand prize of $20 or two movie tickets, and hopefully have lots of fun in the process!

Research Question: To what extent did United States naval policy in the interwar years (1921-1940) and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor influence American strategy in the Pacific in World War II?
IB Diploma Program Re-Authorization Self-Study Submitted
This week, David submitted the self-study documentation for re-authorization of the IB Diploma Program. The self-study, completed by the high school team and Nancy Lang, documented implementation of the program for the past five years and was comprehensive in scope from administrative structures to curriculum and assessment to an update of the school's action plan for the next five years of the implementing the Diploma Program. About 100 pages of documentation were submitted. International Baccalaureate will study the document and issue a report to Journeys School within the next three to four months.

We are excited to announce that the Brazilian artist team, VJ Suave, will visit our IB art students to teach simple animation. Join us for art + food + beverages + bonfires + music!
