Elementary will now offer an elective on Fridays at 11:15: Challenge Math with Olivia! We are grateful to Olivia for bringing her creativity and love of math to 3-5 grade students who would like to participate. Choir will also be starting again in a few weeks during this time slot or students can choose to do learning lab.
On Friday afternoons during our leadership block students have also chosen an activity to participate in when we are not working with the Field Education staff on outdoor leadership. Students will be knitting, learning about World War II, upcycling old t-shirts into bags, or working on capstone. Many parents and volunteers will be helping. A special thanks to Libby Hall and Rob Hagedorn for spearheading the knitting and history lessons.
Journey packets will be coming home in folders. Please turn in participation sheets soon so teachers can plan appropriately for numbers. We are excited for these upcoming immersive experiences for the students!
We will be at school for Valentine's Day this year. In order to celebrate, advisory groups will be meeting on Tuesday morning to do a special activity together. Students should not bring other Valentines from home as advisory time will serve as our time dedicated to thinking about kindness and friendship and making Valentines. However, if you are interested in making a special Valentine's Day snack to add to the celebration, please let Shannon know.
Third Grade Visits Stage Stop
The third grade will support Addie in her role as Jr. Musher and visit the vet checks for the Stage Stop dog sled races. They have been learning about the mushers, dogs, and race in class.
Congratulations to Coco for her award from the Art Association in the members show!
A huge thank you to the Hagedorn family for donating new sleds and treats to the school. Thank you to our snack and rags helpers!
