2nd and 3rd Grade Musical!
The second and third graders have been working on putting together a musical for performance on March 7th starting at 2:35 in the Dining Lodge.  The play is called "Dreamcatcher" and is about encouraging children to reach for their dreams. We hope elementary families can join us.  All are welcome.

Professional Development
Teachers will be participating in a day of professional development on Friday, February 17th. We look forward to learning more about brain science, research, and best practices with students.

Electives

Math Challenge and Friday afternoon electives were a great hit last week. We look forward to more time spent learning new skills and ideas of interest! Thanks again to all of our volunteers! Choir is starting up again on Friday, February 10th.

Ice Skating

We will do our best to make up the final day of ice skating for the second and third grade students. The students have loved it! Thanks to all of our volunteers that helped tie skates and thanks to Kevin for organizing.

Reminder: The rink REQUIRES helmets. Please bring your own, along with gloves and appropriate clothing for skating indoors.  If you do not have access to a helmet, please email Kevin Rauch-Lynch.

Journey Information
Please check Haiku for journey information. We are excited to immerse students in expedition-based learning next week on Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th. This will be followed by a four day weekend for the students.

Valentine's Day
We will be at school for Valentine's Day this year. In order to celebrate, advisory groups will be meeting on Tuesday morning to do a special activity together. Students should not bring other Valentines from home as advisory time will serve as our time dedicated to thinking about kindness and friendship and making Valentines. However, if you are interested in making a special Valentine's Day snack to add to the celebration, please let Shannon know.

Appreciations
Thank you to the Hagedorns for donating even more sleds to our quiver! Thank you also for the following parents for volunteering to help with snacks and rags:  2/24 Heidi and Amanda!
