Academic Achievement

Congratulations to the following students for their recent achievements:

Frank Daly tied for 12th at the Wyoming State Scripps Spelling Bee. Way to go, Frank!

Teachers in other grades also selected students anonymously to have their writing move to the district level of judging for Wyoming Young Authors. The district judging takes place this Friday, March 17 and we will anxiously await news of any first place or honorable mentions. First place at the district level moves the piece to the state level. Academic Nominations: Along with our nominated "kind leaders", teachers will nominate students who have shown exceptional work in class to be posted on our leader board in the upstairs hallway. This will take place next week along with a small celebration.

Trimester Reports
We are planning to send trimester reports home before spring break. Shannon will also include a spring letter to families with responses to the parent surveys. Please contact teachers with specific questions you might have regarding reports or contact Shannon about any elementary issues you would like to discuss more when we return from break.

Book Fair
A huge thank you to Cindy Daly and all of the parents who supported the book fair this year. Our elementary students absolutely love visiting the book fair and the teachers appreciated all of the fabulous book donations to classes!

Pi Day Was a Hit!
It was fantastic to see the entire elementary engaged in math activities all morning, and some into the afternoon in science class. The parent pie making/procuring effort was outstanding and all students should be able to teach you a pi lesson at home. Thank you for the teamwork from teachers, kids, and parents alike.

Emergency Services Visits PE
This week the county emergency services will work with second and third grade students to engage them in learning about the services they provide and the medical profession in general. We always enjoy these real-life community connections and learning from other professionals in the field.

Final Skating for 2/3 PE Next Tuesday
The make up skating day for second and third graders will be Tuesday, March 21st. Please remember to bring HELMETS of any kind. You can also bring your own skates, but skates are provided at the rink.

Appreciations
Thank you to families who have let us know about absences around spring break. If you will be missing extra school, please notify your child's advisor, and Sam, as soon as possible. Thank you to Meladi for providing lunch for the staff during report writing. Thank you to our snack and rag helper this week, our own Kjera! Thank you to Cindy Daly for help with rags next week before break. We could use some more help with snacks for the remainder of the year. If you have not yet signed up to bring a Friday snack, we would appreciate your participation. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e4daaaf2aaaf58-friday
