Thank You
Thank you to Kenny Hadden, Finn’s dad, for helping us enhance family dramatic play by revamping the giant house that we have in the Teewinot room. Children have been having a great time using that space as a home.

Grand Teton National Park Journeys

March 7th, Semi-All Day Journey to GTNP

On Tuesday March 7th please make sure that your child is at school by 8:45am for our journey into the park. We will be meeting up at the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center with a naturalist to go on a snowshoeing adventure. We will have a picnic lunch outside and then meet with a Park Ranger to learn about what animals do for survival in the winter months. We will be aiming to be back at school by 2pm, at which point children will have the opportunity to take a short nap if needed or engage in some mellow indoor activities to reflect on their experiences from the day. Please let Erin know if you are interested in volunteering for this exploration.
Please pack:
- A field lunch that does not need to be re-warmed. Please also plan to pack utensils if they are needed.
- A full water bottle.
- Dress your child in long underwear and warm layers. Please make sure to pack a neck warmer in addition to the Big 5.

March 10th, Early Release Day
Just a reminder that we will have lunch in pre-k at 11:30am on this day, please pack a lunch as there will not be community lunch that day, but your children do get hungry before 12:15pm. Pick-up time is between 12-12:15pm.

Learning Team Meetings
We are looking forward to our next round of Learning Team Meetings this month. These meetings will address your child’s development in all four areas and will give teachers a chance to highlight your child’s achievements. A sign-up sheet for meetings has been sent to you via email using Google Docs.  Each advisor has times listed from March 14th through 24th. Please look for the tab at the bottom to click on your child’s advisor’s name. As a reminder these meetings are between teachers and parents; children should either be at school or have other care for the time that you are scheduling your meeting. Each meeting will be 30 minutes long and we will be starting promptly in order to be mindful of other families. If you are unable to keep your selected time or need an alternative time, please call your child’s advisor to reschedule. We are happy to find alternative times, but request that you schedule your meeting with us by March 24th. If we have not heard from you by then we will take that to mean you wish to forgo a meeting and would prefer to receive information about your child’s progress in their folder. Thank you! We look forward to connecting with you and sharing about your child’s accomplishments at school!

Rest time and Cozy Stuff
We would greatly appreciate your support in bringing in your child’s cozy/nap blankets each week even if your child does not nap. During this time we ask all children to rest their bodies whether that is napping, listening to a story, looking at books, or playing with a quiet toy. Thank you so much.

Snack
Thank you to the Gricus family for providing snack this week! If your child does not come to school on a Monday, we would greatly appreciate if snack could be dropped off the Thursday or Friday before or if possible that Monday morning. This will ensure that we have enough snack for all children throughout the entire week. We truly appreciate all the delicious food parents bring in to give children adequate energy for the day. The next family up is the Brooks family scheduled for the week of March 6th.
If you have a conflict with the week that you are signed up for or have any questions, please direct them to Paige at paige.fisher@journeysschool.org.
