New this summer, Teton Science Schools will offer the first in a series of workshops focused on Wyoming Water in the Classroom. In partnership with the University of Wyoming's Science and Math Teaching Center, workshops will be offered at Teton Science Schools and at sites throughout the state. Funding comes from the University of Wyoming's largest ever research grant (Water in the Changing West), and teacher participants will have the opportunity to interact with scientists from the University of Wyoming studying water issues around Wyoming.

The workshop will target middle and high school teachers and provide training in local geology, hydrology, and groundwater models. Teachers will learn research and science inquiry teaching techniques using equipment and activities that are part of larger Water in the Changing West program. This workshop could be considered a Wyoming Stream Team part 2, and teachers who have participated in Wyoming Stream Team in the past are encouraged to attend.

Teachers will receive credit from the University of Wyoming or the Wyoming Professional Teachers Standards Board.
