While days may be short and nights long, winter time presents a new world to explore and opportunities to engage students in the study and practice of science. This course focuses on snow science through lectures and inquiry-based field laboratories. This workshop will introduce the foundations of snow science while highlighting the ways in which it can be used to explore and introduce concepts in elementary and secondary science. Participants will take part in a variety of hands on, inquiry-based activities that can be integrated into their curricula.  Participants that complete the workshop have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit from either the University of Wyoming, or the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB).

Dates: Feb 3-5, 2017
Price: $100/ teacher for Wyoming teachers; $300/ teacher for out-of-state teachers
Arrivals: 3:00-4:30 pm on Friday, February 3rd; program begins at 5:00 pm
Departures: 11:00 am on Sunday, February 5th


Teachers who complete the program are eligible to apply for $100 of supplies.
