This camp provides children with the opportunity to explore, wonder, and freely play in our local natural environment. This innovative program follows the forest kindergarten model practiced across Europe and now starting in North America. Children spend the entirety of the day outdoors, rain or shine. We will set up a tarp for shelter or shade, and bathrooms are available on each site. We aim for each child to develop a deep sense of connection to place and each other through free play and projects that build resilience and leadership skills. This natural setting creates a learning environment that is open, dynamic, and rich with life and opportunity. Sessions will be offered in Victor, Idaho (drop-off/pick-up at Teton Valley Community School) and in Jackson, Wyoming (drop-off/pick-up at the Jackson Campus). We will meet at our campuses and then take a bus to our forest location for the day.
