Teacher Learning Center and University of Wyoming’s Science & Mathematics Teaching Center are excited to welcome back teams of teachers from schools in Wyoming that have sent teachers to a previous place-based education workshop or field education program. The program is geared towards Wyoming educators and will be open to educators from outside WY, too. This year, the workshop series will delve into connections between the Wyoming Science Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and place-based education. In addition, the series will go into greater depth of discussion, experience and application with place-based education principles.
The program in 2020-21 will be primarily virtual with evening or intensive weekend sessions. If public health permits, we hope to invite Wyoming teacher participants to an in-person intensive weekend at TSS in April 2021, and we anticipate offering the workshop virtually also for those who can’t attend in person and in the event we can’t be in person.
