Student Behavior Agreement
At Teton Science Schools, we require that all participants agree to our student behavior agreement in order to provide a safe, inclusive and educational experience for all participants. Our instructors set clear expectations and rules as to appropriate conduct at the start of each program. Our behavior agreement includes: show respect to self, others and the environment; share equally in group responsibilities; perform equal to your academic ability; possess no weapons of any kind; abstain from using alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco in any form; exhibit no violent or destructive behavior, chronic misbehavior, or actions that result in an unsafe physical or emotional situation for self and others; abstain from intimate or exclusive relationships; and use digital cameras appropriately and respectfully. Please communicate with us in advance (through the medical questions on the registration form, or in person upon drop-off) if you have any special instructions for us regarding the social, emotional, or behavioral needs of your child.
Consequences for breaking our Student Behavior Agreement
We reserve the right to determine how to best deal with disruptive behavior. As mentioned above, all students agree to our student behavior standards prior to attending camp. Failure to maintain these standards will result in dismissal from Teton Science Schools’ programming and forfeiture of tuition. Actions on our end may involve but are not limited to discussing the disruptive behavior with your child, having your child sit out from a camp activity, asking a parent or guardian to come in to discuss the behavior, dismissing your child early for the day, or dismissal from camp. In cases of camp dismissal, no refunds shall be given.
Summer Camp Refund and Payment Policy
Fees are fully refundable (less a $25 non refundable administrative fee assessed per camp registration) up to 30 days prior to the start date of your child’s camp. You may email us your refund request and our response (within 24 hours) will be confirmation of receipt in your email. If you do not hear from us then we have not received your request.
- Emergencies: If you have a medical or family emergency and are unable to attend camp please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you, however refunds are at the discretion of the camp.
- Last minute cancellations: Refunds will not be issued if cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to the start date of the camp.
- Transferring registrations: We cannot transfer or donate your cancelled registration to a friend. We maintain waitlists for each camp and it would not be fair to those families on a waitlist to give preferential registration to someone else.
- Switching camps is subject to any additional cost due to a difference in tuition between the two camps. “Switches” must be made no later than one week before the original camp, and two weeks prior to the desired “switch” camp. Switches are based on availability.
- Program cancellation: Although we make every effort to adhere to our program schedule, extenuating circumstances may cause Teton Science Schools to cancel a program. Teton Science Schools also reserves the right to cancel classes in the case of low enrollment. In case of a camp cancellation, you will be issued a full refund.
- Prorated tuition for partial attendance
- We do not offer any kind of prorated tuition if your child attends fewer than the scheduled number of days for the camp. You are welcome to register for the entire camp at full tuition and attend a portion of the camp, however no refunds will be issued for any days of missed attendance.
- Refunds will not be given if:
- A child is sent home due to behavioral issues (see TSS Student Behavior Agreement).
- A child decides to drop out of the program or leaves early/before the end of camp.
- A child is sick and either stayed home from, or was sent home from camp due to fever or other ailments.
- A child fails to attend or is absent during the program.
Allergies and Medications
We cannot guarantee a nut-free facility. Any food allergies your child has should be listed on your completed medical form. All allergies are written on instructor’s rosters and accommodated accordingly. During our day camps, instructors carry snacks with them in the field and will be conscious of any allergies listed for their campers, and lunch is the family’s responsibility. If your child has been prescribed an EpiPen (even if it is not a critical concern at present), it must be brought to camp.
Teton Science Schools reserves the right to make all final decisions and changes to this policy.
