Celebrating 25 Years of Wildlife Expeditions: A Journey Made Possible by Our Guides and Guests

This year, Wildlife Expeditions of Teton Science Schools celebrates a remarkable milestone—25 years of connecting people to the wildlife and wild places of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. As we reflect on a quarter century of sharing the wonders of nature with guests from around the world, we are filled with gratitude for those who have made this journey possible: our dedicated guides and our enthusiastic guests.

A Legacy of Passion and Expertise

Since 1999, our incredible team of guides has been the heart and soul of Wildlife Expeditions. have spent countless hours tracking wildlife, leading tours, and educating participants about the intricate ecosystems that make Jackson Hole, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Parks so unique.

From the crack of dawn to the quiet moments of sunset, they’ve brought their passion for nature to life, making each expedition a truly unforgettable experience. Whether spotting a grizzly bear on the move, listening for the howls of wolves, or watching a herd of bison cross a wintery landscape, our guides have not only shared the thrill of wildlife sightings but also deepened our guests’ understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things.

Honoring Our Guides

We owe a great deal of our success to the incredible knowledge, commitment, and enthusiasm of our guides. These men and women are more than just wildlife experts—they’re educators, conservationists, and storytellers, weaving together science and personal experiences to create a powerful narrative about the natural world.

“Our guides are the heart of Wildlife Expeditions. Their knowledge, commitment, and enthusiasm have made each expedition special,” said Kevin Taylor, Lead Faculty and longtime guide. “We’re honored to have shared these experiences with guests from around the world to witness the incredible wildlife in our backyard.”

Guests: Partners in Conservation

At the same time, our guests have been vital partners in our mission. From families on their first visit to Jackson Hole to seasoned wildlife enthusiasts seeking out the hidden corners of the region, each person who joins our expeditions brings their own curiosity and passion for the natural world.

Our guests’ enthusiasm drives us to innovate and improve the experiences we offer, and their eagerness to learn makes every expedition a meaningful exchange. We’re proud to say that many of our guests leave with a stronger connection to nature—and a commitment to conserving the wild places and creatures we all love.

“Our guests inspire us as much as we inspire them,” says John Gallagher, Director of Wildlife Expeditions. “Their excitement and curiosity make every expedition unique, and their support over the years has helped us grow and thrive. Together, we’re building a community that cares deeply about wildlife and conservation.”

Looking Ahead: Celebrating Together

As we celebrate this 25-year milestone, we’re excited to look forward to the future of Wildlife Expeditions. We remain committed to sustainability, responsible wildlife viewing, and providing unforgettable experiences that foster a sense of stewardship for the environment. To honor this 25-year milestone, Wildlife Expeditions will host  special events to celebrate with the guides, guests, and community members who have been part of its history:

  • There will be a special 25th-Anniversary cookie at the Murie Ranch Annual Cookie Swap on December 8th.
