Mountain Academy is proud to be one of the 50 schools in the United States that are a part of the Malone Scholarship Program. The Malone Family Foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. John C. Malone, a well-known communications and media executive and investor, and his family, with one principal objective: to improve access to quality education for gifted students who lack the financial resources to best develop their talents. The Malone Family Foundation funds scholarships for identified talented and gifted students with financial needs on our Jackson Campus.

Students applying for admission in grades 7-10 who meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Meet all admissions criteria for the Jackson Campus
  • Demonstrate superior motivation for academic excellence evidenced by grade reports, test scores, and recommendations
  • Demonstrate financial need to qualify for funding of at least 30 percent of tuition through the financial consideration process

To apply for the Malone Scholarship, applicants must submit the Mountain Academy Application as well as the Tuition Assistance application.

Additionally, interested candidates must express interest in the Malone Scholarship by informing our Admissions team by email: admissions@tetonscience.org

Candidates who meet the academic performance requirements will then complete a student interview and submit a written essay.

Mountain Academy’s Tuition Assistance Committee reviews each request for tuition assistance and determines the tuition assistance grant based on the family’s needs and the school’s budget. Tuition assistance decisions are announced to new families in January, should all aforementioned deadlines have been met. After this date, tuition assistance decisions will be announced once your application for consideration of tuition assistance and your application for consideration of admission are completed. These applications are then reviewed on a rolling basis starting at the beginning of February. Returning families who are in good standing with the business office and have met all aforementioned tuition assistance deadlines will hear from Mountain Academy regarding their grants for the upcoming school year in February and March.

Enrollment Agreement Signatures are due on or before January 31.

Deadline: December 15, 2023

Tuition Assistance Applications must be completed no later than December 15, 2023. Available funds are limited and we highly recommend families start the PFS process early to ensure ample time to gather documents, request support, and submit applications in a timely manner.

Mountain Academy tuition assistance includes books, tuition costs, class Journeys and in some cases, the Lunch Program. Tuition assistance does not include capstone fees.

Mountain Academy’s goal is to support as many families as possible, and all tuition assistance is based on need. All tuition assistance awards are contingent upon the receipt of one of the required tax documents from both parents, if applicable, as well as the completion of all steps in the process by the stated deadlines. This process remains confidential between the Mountain Academy Tuition Assistance Committee and Business Office.

Please allow ample time to complete the required form and meet all deadlines. If you have any questions during the process, please contact matuitionassistance@tetonscience.org or call 307.733.1313.
