Exciting News: Jenny Brackin Joins Mountain Academy Jackson Campus as Our New 2025-26 K/1 Teacher

The Mountain Academy Jackson campus was buzzing with excitement during our recent family meet and greet with Jenny Brackin, our new 2025-26 K/1 teacher! We are thrilled to welcome Jenny to our community, where her passion for creative, project-based learning and her love for the outdoors will inspire and engage our youngest learners.

With 16 years of teaching experience and a Master’s in Education in Arts Integration, Jenny is dedicated to fostering a classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore, create, and grow. Her approach to education centers on building connections to the natural world and the community, making her the perfect fit for our place-based learning philosophy.

Jenny’s enthusiasm for outdoor education has been a key part of her teaching journey, especially after spending two years teaching 100% outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience sparked her lifelong love for outdoor learning, and she plans to bring this passion to her K/1 classroom by embracing the natural beauty of Jackson and the surrounding areas.

This summer, Jenny and her family will be relocating from Boulder, Colorado, to Jackson. Her husband, a Jackson native, is excited to return to his roots, and the whole family is looking forward to enjoying the outdoor adventures that Jackson has to offer. Jenny’s daughter will be joining our preschool program at Mountain Academy this fall, and the family is eager to become part of our vibrant community.

Outside of the classroom, Jenny stays busy with a variety of creative pursuits, including volunteering on Boulder’s search and rescue team, creating art, writing children’s books and poetry, and exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping, and backpacking. She is excited to bring these passions into her teaching and inspire her students in new and exciting ways.

We can’t wait to see what the year holds with Jenny as part of our team, and we are so excited for our students and families to get to know her better. The energy at our recent meet and greet was infectious, and we’re looking forward to all the wonderful learning opportunities she will bring to our K/1 classroom!

Reimagining Our K/1 Learning Space

In alignment with our commitment to innovative and engaging education, we are thrilled to announce an exciting revisioning of our K/1 learning space. With Jenny’s arrival and her emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and nature-based education, we are designing a classroom environment that fosters curiosity and hands-on learning.

The new K/1 space will feature flexible seating arrangements to support different learning styles, nature-inspired elements that reflect our beautiful Jackson surroundings, and interactive stations that encourage exploration and project-based learning. Outdoor learning will play a central role, with a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing students to engage with nature as an integral part of their daily learning experiences.

We look forward to unveiling this enhanced space and watching our students thrive in an environment designed to spark joy, creativity, and discovery! Take a sneak peek of the rendering!
