Retired Interim Dean and Academic Programs Director at the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming. He was formerly Associate Executive Director at
Teton Science Schools in Jackson Wyoming and formerly Director of Conservation Programs for The Nature Conservancy – Alaska. Career focused on conservation and education. Accomplished
educator and communicator in ecology and natural resource disciplines. His academic background is in wildlife ecology with an emphasis on the ecology of human dominated landscapes. Doug’s career has focused on conservation, educating students about the natural world and training educators to use the outdoors as an effective educational environment. He has considerable experience working with stakeholders in collaborative processes on natural resources issues. He has developed and implemented innovative graduate and undergraduate curricula in natural sciences, sustainability, education, and natural resource management. He and his wife Becky have retired to Cody Wyoming. He is an avid outdoors person with strong interests in outdoor recreation including cross-country skiing, backpacking, hiking, hunting, and most anything related to time in the wilderness.
