Born and raised in California, Duncan is a passionate outdoor and science educator with a love for all things astronomy and physics. Throughout his career he’s balanced a deep desire for learning with a drive to find purpose in community, earning an MSc in physics from the University of British Columbia while teaching whitewater kayaking, climbing, science, and outdoor leadership. He loves solving problems and learning-by-doing, and is always searching for ways to broaden his skill set.
After working as a researcher at the TRIUMF national laboratory in Vancouver, B.C., friends and mountains drew Duncan to Jackson in the spring of 2023. Duncan is driven to steward the land, educating both visitors and students through Wildlife Expeditions and Wyoming Stargazing, bringing to the forefront the exceptional ecosystem and landscape in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. As a member of the TSS team, Duncan is thrilled to contribute a passion for collaboration, education, and research to the mission and work of the Teton Science Schools.
