Elsie grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from McGill University with a joint degree in Environment and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies. Her interests in environmental justice and immigration policy have led her to study and work in Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, and at the US-Mexico border in Arizona and New Mexico. She has worked in education as a daycare teacher, civic engagement program leader, tutor, and nature art teacher. Having benefited from field-based education programs as a student, she is passionate about creating learning environments that build meaningful connections to the places we inhabit and the living things we share them with. She is excited to join the TSS Americorps crew and learn more about the ecology of the Tetons and place-based education! In her free time, Elsie likes crafting (currently into linoprinting and collaging), climbing, running, and hiking!
