George Angelo

Swan Valley, Idaho

With nearly 5 decades in education, healthcare, and outdoor recreation, George Angelo has had a
diverse and impactful career. He holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Massachusetts
Dartmouth and a M.Ed. from Salve Regina University. George spent 26 years as an educator and
administrator at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, including roles as vice principal, director
of activities, and director of the sports medicine program. He also served as an associate
professor at the University of Utah, teaching emergency response and athletic training.

In addition to his work in education, George has been involved with the National Park Service
and Jackson Hole Fire and EMS, working summers in both Jackson, WY and Estes Park, CO
since 1977. He has served as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, EMS provider, and Search and
Rescue member. Over the past decade, George has volunteered with the Grand Teton Wildlife
Brigade, helping protect wildlife and ensure visitor safety.

George continues to assist Utah Olympic Park, training coaches and ski patrol members in EMS,
and contributing to the National Ski Patrol’s refresher program.

George’s philosophy centers on fostering growth through education and instilling a sense of
wonder in the natural world. He draws inspiration from Rachel Carson’s belief in the power of
curiosity and conservation for future generations. When not working, George enjoys skiing,
hiking, fishing, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.
