Joanna Ahlum

Joanna is an educator and ecologist who is passionate about helping students develop a sense of wonder, curiosity, and connection to the world around them. She brings experience in environmental science, place-based education, and experiential learning, having worked with Teton Science Schools in roles supporting graduate education and outdoor learning, and previously taught environmental studies and sciences at Santa Clara University. She is a lifelong learner who loves exploring new questions alongside students and finding meaningful ways to connect learning to place.

Outside of school, Joanna enjoys exploring the Tetons with her husband and their two daughters, dreaming up her next trip to the ocean, working in the garden, and reading a good book recommended by a friend.
