Maria Del Rosario Vasquez

In Maria’s many years working with young children, she has developed a deep passion for this age group. The growth that happens between a young toddler and a toddler is incredible. Being a part of their journey as they learn how to name and handle their emotions, such as when they are feeling sad, angry, or frustrated, is an honor. Children are just learning to use their words, and Maria enjoys guiding them through this process. Maria is excited to continue exploring the possibilities of place-based education at Mountain Academy, weaving together the Reggio Emilia philosophy with nature-based practices. Maria was the 2025 Champion of Children Award Winner, a prestigious accolade that celebrates outstanding Early Childhood Educators in Teton County. Maria took home the top honor, earning the title of Best Early Childhood Educator of 2025. Maria believes that we live in a beautiful place, and she is excited to connect children to nature in meaningful ways.
