Whitney is entering her senior year at the University of Denver, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Science with a minor in Leadership Studies. Through both her academic and professional experiences, she has developed a passion for outdoor education, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning. Prior to joining Teton Science Schools as an AmeriCorps member, Whitney worked on an oyster boat in New Hampshire, facilitated backpacking and rock climbing courses in the Sierra Nevadas with Outward Bound, and conducted research in a laboratory studying crickets. She chose to serve with TSS to help increase STEM literacy for the next generation while continuing to build community, spend time outdoors, and expand her technical outdoor skills. In her free time, Whitney enjoys climbing, backpacking, exploring new trails, and spending time outside listening to music with friends.
