Tucked in the middle of Victor, Idaho, the Mountain Academy Teton Valley Campus is more than just a school; it’s a learning community rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a deep connection to place. As we participate in this year’s Tin Cup Challenge, we invite you to take a closer look at what makes our school unique and how your support helps us continue to grow a generation of thoughtful, engaged learners in Teton Valley.
A School That Feels Like Home
From preschoolers exploring the garden to 8th graders leading service projects, our students are part of a deeply rooted community. At Mountain Academy, education is not confined to a classroom; it flows through forest trails, kitchen tables, science labs, and snow-covered playgrounds.
Our Preschool through 8th-grade program is designed to nurture the whole child, fostering academic growth alongside social-emotional development, creativity, and environmental stewardship. With small class sizes and caring educators, each child is known, seen, and supported as they grow.
We believe that children thrive when they feel a sense of belonging, and for many families in Teton Valley, our campus feels like a second home.
Learning That Lasts a Lifetime
Our approach blends project-based learning with meaningful outdoor experiences. Students ask big questions, tackle real-world problems, and make connections across subjects and seasons.
What does that look like in practice?
- Preschoolers learn through play, stories, and sensory exploration, building confidence as they discover the world around them.
- Kindergartners and 1st graders plant vegetables and learn where their food comes from.
- A group of 4th and 5th-graders working with local conservationists to track wildlife migration patterns.
- Middle school students present sustainability proposals to town leaders or publish their writing in regional newspapers.
Every project, every field experience, and every joyful moment of discovery is an opportunity for our students to build skills that will serve them for a lifetime: curiosity, empathy, resilience, and a deep love of learning.
Access
We recognize that access to high-quality education is crucial for fostering strong communities. That’s why we offer tuition assistance to families at our Teton Valley Campus. Our goal is to ensure that financial circumstances are never a barrier to a child’s education.
Support from the Tin Cup Challenge helps us grow that commitment. With your help, we can continue to expand access, attract passionate educators, and offer robust programming that meets the needs of our valley’s children and families.
Our Mission in Action
Mountain Academy is part of Teton Science Schools, an organization with over 50 years of experience connecting people, place, nature, and education. That legacy of place-based learning shapes every aspect of our Teton Valley Campus, from the design of our curriculum to our engagement with the local community.
Students learn within the place they call home, not just about it.
They hike and journal in the aspens. They partner with farmers, artists, and elders. They learn the history and ecology of this landscape and understand their role in shaping a more just and sustainable future.
This is education rooted in the rhythms of Teton Valley life.
Why Tin Cup Matters
The Tin Cup Challenge is more than a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of community. Each year, it brings together people who care deeply about this place and the people who call it home.
When you support Mountain Academy through Tin Cup, you’re helping:
- Provide need-based scholarships to Teton Valley families
- Offer high-impact outdoor learning and field experiences.
- Support our inspiring, passionate, and dedicated teachers.
- Maintain and improve our campus facilities and natural learning spaces.
- Continue to build a school culture that uplifts and includes every child.
In short, you’re helping build a better future, one student at a time.
