Early Childhood Summer Programs

Jackson Campus

Early childhood summer programs follow the same Reggio Emilia philosophy and Nature-Based practices as our school year program. Children from 3 years old to entering Kindergarten will explore, connect, play, and engage in their natural surroundings, both on campus and on journeys to nearby places. Your child will practice cognitive and social-emotional skills through problem-solving, teamwork, and creative expression as they get their hands dirty in our outdoor studio and participate in many outdoor adventures.

Programs:

Each week, we will have a Pika Group, a Magpie Group, and an Otter Group. Each group can have a maximum of 13 children. Children will be in age-based groups based on who signs up each week. For the most part, though, Pikas will be our 3-year-olds and maybe some young 4-year-olds, Magpies will be 4-year-olds, and Otters will be children entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Location: Teton Science Schools Jackson Campus

Dates:
Week 1: June 22 – June 26
Week 2: June 29 – July 3
Week 3: July 6 – July 10
Week 4: July 13 – July 17

All Early Childhood-aged children will be split into three age-appropriate groups each week. The age range of the children registered will determine these groups. They will either be a Pika, a Magpie, or an Otter. Children will take 2-3 journeys around the valley each week to explore places such as Rendezvous Park, the Murie Ranch, and Grand Teton National Park. The week before your child attends camp, you will receive an email with the group your child will be in, along with a detailed packet of information to help you prepare for a week full of joy, wonder, and adventure. When you register your child, you can let us know whether you would like your child to be in the same group as another child. We will do our best to accommodate based on age and the number of children we can have in each group. We can’t wait to explore this beautiful place with your child this summer!

Spaces:

  • Pikas will be in the South Ed Building, with a temporary fence for the outdoor play space.
  • Magpies will be located in the Preschool Classroom and the Preschool Play yard.
  • Otters will be situated in the Pre-K classroom and the Pre-K play yard space.
