Teton Science Schools Celebrates New Executive Director

Wayne Turner Appointed Executive Director of Teton Science Schools

We are proud to announce the appointment of Wayne Turner as its new Executive Director. Turner’s connection to the organization spans nearly four decades, beginning in 1986 when he first arrived as a High School Field Ecology student. His journey continued when he joined the staff as an intern in 1988 and steadily advanced through a variety of roles, culminating in his leadership of the school’s fundraising efforts as Director of Development between 2001 and 2010.

“Wayne’s deep understanding of our mission, combined with his professional experience and dedication, made him the clear choice to lead Teton Science Schools into the future,” said Leah Corrigan, Chair of the TSS Board of Directors. “His leadership experience, fundraising expertise, long-standing connection to the community, and passion for education and conservation will be invaluable as TSS continues to inspire curiosity in students of all ages and stewardship of the natural world.”

Turner expressed enthusiasm for the road ahead: “Teton Science Schools has been part of my life for nearly 40 years. I am honored and excited to step into this role. I look forward to building on our rich history while forging new paths to connect people with science and nature in Grand Teton National Park and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in meaningful ways.”
