Wildlife Expeditions Hosts Guide Days

Since 1996, Teton Science Schools has partnered with Interpretation Division of Grand Teton National Park to host Guides Days. Guides Days is a symposium held for all of Grand Teton National Parks authorized concessionaires (Grand Teton Lodge Company, Heart 6 Ranch, R Lazy S and many more). Kevin Taylor, Wildlife Expeditions faculty, works closely with the NPS staff to organize a meaningful set of lecturers and activities. The goal is to provide strategies for interpretation and common themes for guides, wranglers and hotel staff. In turn they provide their respective clients with a more complete educational and entertaining experience. This year’s seminars included lectures by Park Geologist Anne Matson, Teton Raptor Center’s Jen Jellen (former WE Guide), Cutthroat Trout Specialist Boots Allen (former WE guide) and many more.

Wildlife Expeditions is proud to represent TSS and this long standing partnership with the NPS. Federal budgets are getting tighter ever year, and we anticipate that TSS will play an even greater role in providing interpretation for park concession employees and visitors in the future. For many of the attendees this is their first exposure to National Park system and Grand Teton National Park. It is amazing to see all of the wide-eyed attendees. Wildlife Expeditions looks forward to working with the NPS to provide opportunities to opening up the minds and hearts of future concession employees.
