Ally Chorun

Ally grew up in rural NJ with a love for art, nature, and adventure. She completed her B.S. in Art Therapy at Lesley University in Boston, excited to help youth grow their creativity, understanding of themselves and their community. After the need for more time in nature took her out west to Arizona, she began hiking, backpacking, and traveling the most ecologically diverse parts of the country, realizing she wanted to work in environmental conservation, and found herself in seasonal parks work. She’s since worked various outreach and interpretive positions across the mountain west, including in Tonto NF, Glacier NP, Mount Rainier NP, and most recently North Cascades NP, where she fell in love with teaching on trail. Becoming a field educator led her straight to TSS this season, where she’s excited to continue sharing her passion and knowledge for ecology, conservation, and connection with the natural world, with her students. In her free time, you can catch Ally roller skating, camping, watercolor painting, or driving crazy long distances for fun.
