After graduating from Bates College with a degree in Environmental Studies, Elysse promised herself she’d build a life centered around playing outside. So far, she’s not doing too shabby! In the summer, she teaches kids science in epic places like Denali and New Hampshire’s White Mountains; come winter, she trades her hiking boots for ski boots as an instructor in Big Sky, Montana. Elysse finds that the coolest part about working with kids is getting to experience the outdoors through their eyes; their curiosity and excitement bring life to the wild places they explore. When she’s not teaching, Elysse enjoys (enthusiastically but not expertly) tossing a frisbee with friends, climbing mountains on skis or by foot, baking bread, and sleeping through her alarm with her dog by her side. She’s super stoked to teach, learn, and play amidst the beauty of the Tetons!
