Editor’s Note: Teton Science Schools Field Education experiences cultivate the skills of young scientists, artists, and naturalists. This week on the TSS blog, we celebrate the creativity of our students in a series of five posts featuring student work in just as many media: writing, drawing, painting, weaving, and mixed media. We hope you enjoy this nature-inspired work. Check out the other posts in this series: WritingSpecies Accounts, and Weaving
The histories of both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park have been recorded and commemorated for decades by famous painters and photographers; art is deeply engrained into the identity of both parks. TSS Field Education experiences integrate drawing and water color painting, not just so students can further observe and connect to this place, but also so they can join other artists in celebrating its beauty.
