Mountain Academy’s Jackson Campus early childhood students recently embarked on a thrilling field trip to the local search and rescue headquarters. Greeted by real-life rescuers, students explored emergency vehicles, examined essential equipment, and watched a live demonstration of how teams respond during a rescue mission.
Wide-eyed with excitement, students asked thoughtful questions about helicopters, rescue operations, and the gear used in the field. The highlight? Trying on helmets and harnesses, giving them a true hands-on feel for the important work these community heroes do every day.
The experience sparked both curiosity and admiration—planting the seeds of awareness, courage, and service in even our youngest learners. It was a powerful reminder that learning happens everywhere, especially when it connects students to the people who keep our communities safe.
